Resellers

A reseller is, for example, a web agency reselling hosting to its customers.

Creating a reseller (administrator)

From Resellers press New reseller and set the quota:

  • maximum accounts: how many accounts they can create;
  • assignable space: the sum of the space of their accounts' packages;
  • maximum sites: the sites of all their accounts together;
  • PHP processes per site: the most for a site of the reseller and of their accounts; their packages must stay within this value.

The value 0 means unlimited. Reducing the quota does not touch existing accounts: it only prevents creating new ones.

What the reseller does

  • Creates their own packages and accounts, suspends, reactivates and deletes them.
  • Sees only the sites, databases and activity of their accounts; does not see the server, security, system emails, linked servers, PHP versions or other resellers.
  • Can sign in as one of their accounts to help its user.

Permissions of the reseller

In the reseller's window, What they can do lists the actions the administrator can take away, like the reseller privileges of WHM: create, delete, suspend and edit accounts, create packages, enter as their accounts, change the sites, databases, mail and DNS of their accounts, change the branding, set the nameservers, API keys, webhooks and migration.

At the start a reseller has every permission. A permission taken away disappears from their panel and is refused in the API too; the reseller still sees their accounts and their sites, and their accounts lose nothing.

The brand

From the Brand page the reseller sets the name, the logo (PNG or SVG, at most 256 KB) and the support contacts. The users of their accounts see that name and logo in the panel, the contacts in the “Support” box, and the emails they receive also carry the reseller's name. The sign-in page stays neutral: the brand appears after signing in.

Upgrade for accounts

Also in Brand you can set the upgrade link: the page of your shop where users buy a bigger package. On the home page of your accounts the Upgrade your package button appears and opens that link. If you leave it empty, users see Contact with your support email. Your users never see the panel's plans or purchase page.
